The Godfather by Mario Puzo
4.0
A book of it’s time.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Johnny Fontane story. But I’m glad it was left out of the film.
It was intriguing to see what Coppola decided to keep in, essentially everything related to the Corleone’s directly. The ending was a surprise as well, interesting he didn’t include Kay running away and Hagen’s confrontation.
A trainee at work said aptly “It’s so written by a man.” With this I can agree, it is overtly sexual and specific in its world view, however whether I believe this is the author’s views or the views of the world he has created is another thing.
