kavyarhymes 's review for:
The Lost Future of Pepperharrow
by Natasha Pulley
I loved most of this book, and would lay my life down for Takiko Pepperharrow. However, I read this as things were getting increasingly grim in the real world, and I guess I was okay with a hurt/comfort book as long as the comfort would balance it out. But there was a lot of dark stuff here that our protagonists go through, and not much time spent in the end with them just happy, you know?
Otherwise, brilliantly written as well, set in Meiji era Tokyo were people can suddenly see ghosts, the weather phenomenon is suddenly extremely electric, and a trap has been set for our clairvoyant.
Natasha Pulley is still on top of her game.
