Yes
A fantasy world with teeth, it can be unpleasant at times, but ultimately hopeful. This was the first book released in this series, so it felt like a good tone-setter; a fairly simple story to help you calibrate to what this world is like and how it operates.
Graphic: Blood, Fire/Fire injury, Abandonment
Moderate: Animal death, Confinement, Fatphobia, Vomit, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Grief
Fatphobia CW refers to the narration of a specific character. Also graphic vore warning.
