The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

Not many books evoked this much emotion inside of me. I never cried this much to a story I can not relate to, but I can not help myself. The relationship depicted in this story is everything; beautiful, tragic, toxic, disappointing, amazing... so many details to focus on, so many descriptions of places to live in. The book is not perfectly accurate to the real myths of these characters, but honestly, WHO CARES? the use of already known characters to make your own separate story is honestly so good to me, for you can already have a little idea, a little image inside of your head.

The grief, love, and desperation Patroclus feels through this story is sort of relatable in a weirdly sad way. He will always have a dear place in the depths of my heart.
