Fell a little flat for me in the final third - which is where you'd normally expect a climax, so it was a little odd. I loved the first two parts, very atmospheric, gothic-esque. The final part just had a little too much action all at once. It also went very differently than what I had been expecting. Liked the epilogue quite a lot though.
Still a good, mysterious read, with high tensions and emotion. I could imagine this as a movie by del Toro, which made me realize I would love to see one of Moreno-Garcia's books adapted for film. I really enjoyed it!
