I wanted a quick and easy mystery to listen to while I worked and this was perfect. I read Kara Thomas’s 2018 release “The Cheerleaders” and wasn’t blown away by it. Pretty much any complaint I may have had about that book isn’t in this book. I felt a connection with the main character that was actually strengthened by the dual narrative in this story. I did not see the reveal coming in this one like I did with The Cheerleaders. If you’re not into YA mysteries, you probably won’t care for this too much. There’s not a ton of action, it isn’t thrilling. I don’t know that it actually would have kept my attention had I not listened to the audiobook, to be honest.
