The longer I read this series, the more I realise how different it is since the first half of the series. It started with three unfortunate orphans who were scared for their lives of Count Olaf who always seem to appear in every corner. But now they're growing older, braver, smarter. They're sleuths dedicated to solve the mystery of their parents' deaths and the secret organisation they had been a part of. They're battling villains while slowly committing villainous acts in the process. This book made me gasp, sit up in bed, and have my eyes jump over the pages impatiently just to read more and learn further about their researches. I am getting closer to the truth and I must get to the very end, even if it might break me.
