An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz

4.0

What can i say? Unfortunately this type of history is not taught in public school, so a lot of this is completely new. The scale of atrocities and disrespect to Native Americans throughout the history of the US is unbelievable. This book probably only touches the surface. I would have liked a more regional structure to the book, how the history of the east coast varied from mid west and west coasts. But makes me interested in more in depth history, and maybe the intersection of Native and African lives in the beginning of the country.
