I have a tendency to shy away from royalty romance, but this premise intruiged me. I took a chance and picked it up, and even ignored that it was book 2 in a series. I quickly realised that the book was very charming, entertaining and hot, and that I basically could lean back and enjoy the ride. The main characters were interesting, flawed and lovable, and I love how they learned thwir "flaws" could be both good and bad.
The romance started out as an enemies-to-lovers trope that was unusually well written, with amusing banter as well as attraction. I loved how the story played with several well known romance tropes. We even got a fake relationship and the only-one-bed trope.
The ending was a bit abrubt for my taste, but apart from that, it was just a very entertaining read.
