It is hard to come to the end of the book and find that you don’t like any of the three main characters. I understand them, their beliefs and motives, but I don’t like any of them. The last 25% of the book was the most frustrating.
Still, the immense talent (no pun intended) of Butler made this a worthy read. It’s a gift to be able to read dystopian science fiction by someone so gifted, knowledgeable, and intelligent. It’s all-too frightening how much present day is similar to what is happening in this book. Painful knowing much of it has been going on so long.
