I normally shy away from books written by "stars" because I feel many of them are ghost-written, are just flat-out poorly written and/or written for attention and hype. When I started hearing good things about Dear Mr. You I decided to go ahead and give it a try. As an actress, I really like Mary-Louise Parker, and I was hooked on her show Weeds, especially the first few seasons. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the book. As with all collections, there were a few pieces I didn't "connect" with but as a whole the book is good. I really enjoyed her last letter entitled "Dear Oyster Picker." If GR allowed it, I'd actually give the book 3.75 stars.
