Society of Lies by Lauren Ling Brown
3.25
fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Started off strong, but by the end things just felt repetitive and I was ready for it to be over. It was also hard to follow the two timelines and perspectives and who knew what information because they switched so often, and I didn't feel like either Maya or Naomi had a distinct voice.

Also, I couldn't stand how often the author used ellipses, both in dialogue and in descriptions of events. It was seriously probably an average of once per page and it was jarring every time!
