Autant en emporte le vent, tome 2 by Margaret Mitchell

4.0

★★★★☆ - A better book than the first one.

What I said in my review of part I of [b:Gone with the Wind|18405|Gone with the Wind|Margaret Mitchell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551144577l/18405._SY75_.jpg|3358283] is still true for the second book. Things did not change and/or improve, this story is still spreading white supremacist ideas, racist stereotypes and whitewashing the horrors of slavery. And I think in this book, it was even worse than in the first one. You can really feel like it is not just the author trying to mimic what people would have thought back when [b:Gone with the Wind|18405|Gone with the Wind|Margaret Mitchell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551144577l/18405._SY75_.jpg|3358283] was set, the author is thinking this herself.
Anyway, apart from this very bad and horrible side of the book, the second one was slightly better because it was way less boring. More things are happening and we don't have the very boring, long and useless descriptions of the first book.
Will I read part III? Yes, I have already started.
