This book is basically a Dracula slash fic, which I should have anticipated but somehow didn’t, and that’s on me. If you’re looking for something with a plot, this is not really it.
Despite there being four main vampires, there was almost nothing to sink my teeth into. I wasn’t really drawn to any character, there was no plot except for be sexy and traumatized. I can’t say I like this book, I only finished it because it was only a 5-hour audiobook and I felt that I might as well see it through.
I wouldn't really consider this to be a particularly good representation of poly relationships nor a very good sapphic love story. You can seriously find better reads on AO3. The book and the relationships fell very, very flat for me. Honestly, it's probably one of the worst LGBT books I've read in terms of development and romance. This was really just a horny book, which is fine, but it was not even very imaginative or exciting for a vampire story. It failed to even be good erotica! And these are vampires!!!
I felt really, really sad for Constanza and I wish we had gotten more of her story and seen her come into her power more. I know this is supposed to be a Dracula story, but it sure felt a lot more like a bad Twilight retelling. Very disappointing.
