Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
adventurous
fast-paced
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? No
3.5
A very entertaining read with high stakes. I like how most of the characters are written and their stories finished.
I did not like how many POVs there are and I think keeping track of what all the characters know makes it confusing. I wish that there was a limit on how many POVs we had. I also felt like there were some really hateful things done in the friend group, but the resolution wasn't great. Like they just shrugged and accepted an apology for someone kicking them out?
My last gripe, we have all these bad ass warriors who are over a century old, and they are being led by a 20 year old full of trauma? None of the warriors have ideas?
Loved the thirteen. I liked the little bit of the cadre relationship we saw.
