The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls by Jessica Spotswood

5.0

(I received an arc from the publisher via netgalley and this does not reflect my opinion in any way)

I absolutely adored this book! Each sister dealt with real problems and their stories didn’t seem far fetched or stilted. A glorious, real read that addresses so many issues today’s teens face. Each sister had her own voice and was easily distinguishable from the other three. I loved seeing the journey each Garrett girl went on, the ups and downs and the facing of their own faults and failures. There are moments that I remember so strongly being in as an awkward teen... those moments of fear of what's next, of being good enough (or not, am I?), of sadness and loss, of mistrust, of love, of joy and more. One of the better YA books I have read in recent years for sure.
