800 pages of made up history and I read it like a maniac. I devoured it as my life depended on it. If only, I had shown such dedication in real-world history, I wonder where I would have ended up! Hmm, that's a thought! Anywho, So, I might be slightly fascinated with the Targaryens, Nope! I am actually obsessed with them, I have always been and I want to take this opportunity to say, that, Danaerys Targaryen is one of the greatest female characters to be ever written, no matter how ugly her character arc got towards the end. (TV show, I am side-eyeing you) However, [b: Fire & Blood|39943621|Fire & Blood (A Targaryen History, #1)|George R.R. Martin|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1532828095s/39943621.jpg|61841009] isn't about Dany, It's about her ancestors, starting from Aegon-The conqueror to all the rulers that followed after him.
You know, what else I am obsessed with? I am totally in love with, lineage, genealogy, monarchy, politics, basically, anything with Dragons and this book has a lot of everything that I mentioned above. How can I not love it? It is perfect. A flawless amalgamation of dysfunctional family dynamics with the complexities that come with being the ruling class. An exemplary mix of culture, traditions, religion and its clash and reconciliations with the monarchy. A sublime blend of feuds big and small, of secrets and betrayals, of kinship and incongruity, of rich and poor, of war times and the time of the peace but above all of strength, weakness, vulnerabilities, and corruption that comes with POWER. Like, I said, [b:Fire & Blood|39943621|Fire & Blood (A Targaryen History, #1)|George R.R. Martin|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1532828095s/39943621.jpg|61841009] is perfect. It's splendor, it's rich, it's extensive, it's magnificent, it's enthralling, it's spell-binding and damn! it's addictive.
Now, all I need in my life is that second part! Also, I never thought, I would say this but this book makes me wanna pick up and re-read the original books from [b: A Song of Ice and Fire|12177850|A Song of Ice and Fire (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1-5)|George R.R. Martin|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1339340118s/12177850.jpg|21619530] all over again. Plus, the illustrations are gorgeous! Okay! My heart is full!!
