I will easily admit: I was somewhat reluctant to start reading this one. After all: there must have been good reasons for Sir Terry to have his hard drive steamrolled after his death, so his stories remained as they were.
The stories in this collections show us a young Terry...a writer who's trying things out and is finding his voice. And the spark is there: while it certainly is no Discworld series, the observant reader will see the similarities, the first signs, the tone, the jokes, ...
I enjoyed them. These stories are a delightful afternoon of reading. They feel like stories by Sir Terry and in the end, that's all we can ask and hope for.
Here's to you, Sir Terry, you are still gravely missed!
