Rory by Minerva Howe

4.0

RORY is the first book in The Calhoun Brothers series, a spin-off from the Dragon's Veil series that I haven't read.

Rory is one of the younger Calhoun brothers and has felt drawn to be with the local Pack, run by Jameson and Keegan. He does whatever is needed, whether it's babysitting or cooking. He also supplies the pack with whatever they need, being as his brothers run the local Trading Post. He is the one who finds Fen, a lone wolf who has been shot by unknowns. Jameson and Keegan think they know but it isn't confirmed. Their story runs smoothly without any major angst or miscommunications.

They are ably supported by other characters, some of whom I imagine have had their stories told already. However, Liam, Rory's brother is the one who interests me. Why is he drawn to the empty dragon's lair? I want to know! In fact, I can't wait for all the brothers' stories!

A character-led story with smooth pacing and some steam, I was drawn into their world and look forward to returning in the future. Definitely recommended by me.
