Little Book of Tiny Tales (Volume 1) by Jeremy Ray

5.0

Jeremy Ray is one of my fave short story writers. This anthology of teeny tiny fiction (less than 100 words per story) is just the sort of thing my brain needs sometimes - short, punchy stories that either make me cry, laugh or cringe in horror or in awkwardness. Whether an 80 year old murderer tickles your fancy or a paralysis victim blinking is more your vibe, this collection has a little bit for everyone.

In no particular order these are some of my fave ones and cryptic micro-comments

"The Stepdad": by page 7 I was crying
"The Bookmark": oh my heart, how few words can pack such a big punch
"Love at First Sight": bless, this literally made me laugh out loud
"Blink": this one gave me a chill (inspired by a true story)
"Song of the Maze": awwwwww more tears for me
"High School Reunion": cheers, Ally, I understand
"Milk Carton": Ray really is the master of creep
"Heads or Tails": may we all raise Carol's <--- this was probably my favourite
"BROCK HUDSON was in MY KITCHEN!": cringe, done something like this before
