The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin

4.0

What makes this story so great is not the question that it asks, but rather the author's genius in painting it in such a vivid and engrossing way in just a few pages. Omelas is such a unique and captivating embodiment of the question. The question itself, one has come across in various forms at one point or another. The author has ended the story ostensibly suggesting "the" answer, when in actuality this doesn't exist. At least, I haven't found it yet. But I do look forward to more contemplation of Omelas as well as more of le Guin's writing.
