Some of the food parts were good. They made me hungry. Overall the book did add to my desire to visit Italy.....mainly making me want to eat my way through the country.
I will say that the author's tone was a tad bit pretentious. I mean, I'm not a middle-aged English professor with grown children and a love of giving dinner parties in my Tuscan villa so......maybe it just seems pretentious to me.....not to everyone?
But that tone......that was what made it very hard for me to get through this book. I definitely won't be reading any of her others, if they carry that same air about them.
This is one of those extremely rare occasions where I can say that I most definitely enjoyed the movie way more than the book.
This was the Book Made Into a Movie in my 50 book challenge. Probably should have stuck with Fight Club.
