Chief's Kiss!

Finally something that is a good mix of action and romance. And fast paced!!! Every moment and scene got straight to the point - I didn't need to skim past a few sentences, there was no slow moment. This was a page turner!!

Oh I loved all the characters! Colourful in a dark vampire kind of way. They had both good and bad pieces in them, but they understood and accepted their flaws. Morally grey characters I live for!

Oraya is a little hard around the edges, but I did soften to her and enjoyed her journey.
I rooting for the romance, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The juicy scene is like a whole chapter!! People need to talk about this book more than ACOTAR. The characters make more sense, their choices are more realistic and I wanted to build a shrine for this book, rather than throwing it through a window.
Character personalities were pretty consistent, they didn't flip-flop at all (I think, or if so, then every little). And you will like everyone, even the Ibrahim - who you only read of a hand-full of times, I was rooting for, we were all rooting for him. *cries ugly*

Vampire daddy Vincent was precious gold! The relationship and dynamic between Vincent and Oraya was beautiful. The little interlude stories about Oraya's background, her experiences being raised by Vincent was a nice touch. They were short, sweet and filled out all the important pieces where necessary. Showing us how she came to be the stabby-stabby type.

This book is more about the characters within this world, than it is about the world building. And that is not a bad thing. I think good characters, with complex layers are more important that a world that is complex and well build. The magic system is simple and it works, nothing else is needed. Very much action packed and bloody heart-wrenching.

I found this read to be wonderful, enjoyable and the most fun I had from a book in a while. It's one of those books for me, that has made an impact / impression on me. I think I would place this along side my Locked Tomb series. It's just that good!
