A Wanted Man
by Lee Child
The audio version of this is fantastic. Reacher's busted nose gets delightfully acted out in speech throughout, with the characteristic Reacher charm in full swing. Speaking of, he seems a tad more gruff than usual. He never suffered fools but now he really doesn't and it shows in his deliberate indifference to any degree of false bravado and human stupidity. He's getting older and the years have only honed his sense of fairness and what it means to be a good person in a world so often uncaring of the attempt. Throwing in terrorism and the machinations of the CIA is a fun addition, with an ending like the beginning, Reacher alone and on a mission. To see a woman.
