The Write Escape by Charish Reid

2.0

Once again, I find myself reading a romance novel (what has happened to me?? Who am I?? Did grad school do this to me?) but it’s still NOT WHAT I WANT

Here for the Irish guy in the countryside, here for an interracial romance, not here for the poor writing (I’m sorry, I really do hate being so critical!)

Why, oh why, can’t my poor aggrieved grad school brain get itself a romance novel that shuts it off without being overly critical whilst reading? When, oh when, will my brain be appeased with a well written romance with characters that actually make good decisions for themselves in their lives?? also I realize the irony of me critiquing writing whilst not writing well myself at this moment, but I am a reader and this is my job (also it’s midnight, I worked today, and wrote a research paper when I got home)

This book will tick boxes for many readers, but this isn’t my usual fare - if you like romances, Irish or interracial, this will probably work just fine for you!

Thanks to Netgalley and to the publisher for hooking me up with this in exchange for an honest review, you’re the tops!
