Meet Addy: An American Girl by Connie Rose Porter

5.0

I hadn’t read this book since I was a kid and I was surprised by how many details I still remembered (like the answer to Sam’s riddle) and how detailed Connie Porter chose to write the atrocities of slavery. By the fourth chapter, I was fighting tears. It’s definitely appropriate for younger audiences but I enjoyed it as an adult, too. Cannot wait to introduce my child to these books.
