Naked Statues, Fat Gladiators, and War Elephants: Frequently Asked Questions about the Ancient Greeks and Romans by Garrett Ryan

5.0

Well written, thoroughly cited, and hilariously funny. Not to mention educational.

As a great fan of foot-note based humor, I can't find any faults in this book. Though I might suggest reading the Appendix chapter "A very short history of the classical world" first if (like mine) your knowledge of classical history is full of rusted gaps. But that's entirely up to you, and works either way.
