Most Eligible Billionaire by Annika Martin

This is a super fun unique take on a contemporary billionaire romance while also somehow being an incredibly classic romance story.  The book deals with heavy themes (check trigger warnings), but never feels too serious and always focuses on the romance.

For probably the first half of the book I felt a little sick anytime I was reading Henry's perspective, his initial view on Vicky is that she is a scummy scam artist and it hurt a little to read that much vitriol.  The ending made up for it though. Initially, this is an incredibly whirlwind romance, I think the majority of the book takes place within a month period. But the ending of the book shows a level of dedication and deeply affectionate love over more than a year, I absolutely adore the way this finished.

My greatest disappointment with the book would be that we didn't get to know more about Carly. Vicky's younger sister is hugely important to her throughout the book, but I wish we had gotten to know Carly more as a character and not just as her sister's back story. I think knowing more about Carly would have been incredibly interesting and would have led to a great sense of 'happy family' at the ending rather than just 'over-the-top romance'.  I think more Carly would have taken this from a pretty brilliant, if a bit basic romance, to something truly stellar and unique.
