3.0

This one was a 3 because unfortunately I only enjoyed approximately half of the stories and ended up skipping many of the others. However, I have to say, of the ones I enjoyed, there were some there that were truly fantastic and shone through at anywhere between a four to a five grade, making this a book well worth borrowing from the library.

The stories I did enjoy ranged from; an Alice on a mission in the Old West version of our world to track down the rabbit who is guilty of abducting children and collaborating to put in place systems of local oppression; an Alice as a cunning kickass old woman confronting both the rise of fascism in the UK between the wars and her deadly contract with the Queen; one that took the perspectives of the cats from Alice's story; Alice and her very good dog and her plan that sees her vanquish a real world peril of sexual abuse - there was so much sorrow but triumph wrapped in this one; And finally one eco dystopian scifi one that kept the names and some physical aspects but definitely and defiantly made it its own.

One other thing I did miss from this anthology, is that unlike some others, the stories do not come with author notes at the end of each, where inspiration or link ties are expanded on.
