"The law is not something holy, son. It’s just a reflection of the ideals of those lucky enough to be in charge.”

"I should've seen that coming" - the final words of every Sanderson reader before getting lost in the Pits of Twistsin.

I can feel the gradual increase of stakes in my bones. I am excited to read the next book.

Wax is still my favorite character in this series. Wonderful increase of humor Wayne's dialogues. I love it. Though I have to admit, I have no idea what he is talking about in some of his chapters. Steris seems very interesting. Would like to see more of her.

I love how in every book, that particular book's villain is killed, but the stakes get so much higher that there is no joy in the defeat of the villain. Makes for a good ending within a book while also having story for the next book.

My brain is having a hard time processing the anger I feel on behalf of Wax and also understanding Sazed's position.

“Yes, He hurt Wax. He hurt him badly. But He put the pain where He knew it could be borne.”

Overall, good sequel. Excited for the next book.
