Talks about being closeted, racisim, being not skinny. It was insightful to see a gay man's experience. Some people were just plain racist and homophobic. But Aiden has supportive friends. Even the guy he likes. Even though he's a football player he's a genuinely good guy. So are his other friends. It's a shame that Ted had to leave for being gay. That's just how it was at that time. Intresting to see how some people didn't care that he was gay but others did. There were great panels like canoeing at night. The symbolism of Aidan being reborn as he accepts himself. Good book.
