The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro

5.0

Beautifully written, the book gives an excellent description of a man who willingly chose his life to pass him by. All in the guise of professionalism and loyalty.
Yet this is a book that will mesmerise you with its tranquillity and honesty.
Nothing stays hidden yet no great turmoil will affect you.
Perfectly balanced and marvellously constructed sentence. A true joy.
It made me want to read another book by Ishiguro very soon.
