The Grip of It by Jac Jemc

Did not finish book. Stopped at 36%.
Blahhh. So, so bland.

Switching between the view point of both Julie and James, The Grip Of It follows the couple as they embark on an adventure to buy their first home together. It doesn't take long for them to realise that something is not right with their new home...

I'm not sure what it is, but I didn't jam much with the writing style. It felt a little broken. The flow was a bit jarring and meant that I didn't feel immersed in any of it. It wasn't only the writing style that threw me, but the characters, too. They were really one dimensional, so I became uninterested pretty quickly.

It doesn't help that every sentence is so so simple.
And I did this, and he went there, and then I did this, and then, and then, and, and, and..

What little attention I had to begin with was very quickly lost. DNF at 100 pages.
