I think that VE Schwab is really great writing villains, even if they are the protagonists. I think that reading a protagonist, who is so morally Grey, and detached from the world, and his plot of revenge against an equally evil person was *chefs kiss*. 

Every single character has such a clear motivation, even if you don’t agree with it, you definitely can understand why they do what they do by the end of the book  possibly my favorite thing was the weird family dynamic that happened between Victor and his companions Mitch Sydney, and the dog.
