Brightest Kind of Darkness
by P.T. Michelle
I'm so pleasantly surprised with this book. I picked it up quite reluctantly.
First of all I just want to praise P.T Michelle for not writing about a selfish arrogant one dimensional teenage girl. It was so refreshing for Nara to have more than one hobby and not complain about her domestic situation or her power.
Writers these days seem to think teenagers are weak and frail, but Michelle captured the essence of a modern day teenage girl. Strong and independent.
Nara's power is a refreshment from all the paranormal stories floating around. And Ethan? God thank you thank you thank you for giving him a unique gift that I've never seen before. Not to mention he is totally drool worthy :).
I would have given this book 5 stars, if not for the last scene. Sure it was a good scene, but I wanted great. I wanted there to be an epic battle between Nara and Fate. I wanted it to last longer, for there to be more action.
This book was a total breath of fresh air, and I'm so glad I forced myself to pick it up.
