I don't think I could ever accurately express how beautiful this was to read. McLemore has a gift for creating an atmosphere that seems at once magical and completely natural. The story is a drama of sorts, but the life she breathes into it is something else altogether. A calm, almost meditative, nature pervades it, rounding the harsh edges of painful moments without detracting from their gravity, and holding joy in such a way as to make it still seem uncaptured - free from the weight of words that fail to make it tangible. Mystifying how she does it, but I couldn't put it down and I love it like a treasured fairy-tale.
