I’ve been waiting for this book for a year and it didn’t disappoint. I always love a sports romance when both the main characters are athletes and this one was done really well. The friends with benefits and secret/forbidden relationship made the book so entertaining and I enjoyed how their story evolved from that. I also loved Nikolai as a main character. He had trauma and a past but he worked to better himself for both himself and Isabelle. He was so aware and considerate and just overall a great guy who put Isabelle above himself. I loved the little found family and getting a ton of cameos from other couples and being back in the New York setting. However I did have two main issues with the book. First is that the spice started at 20% and while I enjoyed the spice, it meant that there was no tension or angst for the entirety of the story. I don’t think their story necessarily needed it but it definitely could’ve been cut down and shortened since it got a little boring in the middle. Second is that Isabelle’s volleyball experience and storyline was such a big part in the first 50% but then it felt like it just fell off and wasn’t important anymore and I didn’t like how it was wrapped up. But overall this book was fun, spicy, fast, and enjoyable and I’m glad to be ending off this series on a high.
