I'm a fan of Eberhart but am wondering if I like her short stories better than her books- this was fun but ultimately, I think, forgettable (I read it three hours ago and it's taking me some effort to remember what happened and the names of the characters). It felt a bit more like a thriller than a mystery- it portrays itself as solvable but, while I did end up correctly guessing the murderer*, I did so more based on vibes/storytelling tropes than on any actual clues in the text.
*To be clear- I was 99% sure that a particular character was guilty, because it was the only thing that made sense from a narrative standpoint, but I initially thought that this person did it in cooperation with another character, which I was wrong about. (Spoiler for who I was wrong about, not the murderer:I thought that the murderer collaborated with Dr Bouligny, because from reading Christie, as well as some other authors, I'm always suspicious of a) the doctor, b) the borderline-insider, and c) the person who arrives at the scene of the crime to help suspiciously quickly. )
