Shaw starts the new series with a bang… literally.
I firstly want to applaud the realism that BJ Alpha brought to this new series. She has done an impeccable job of exploring the intricacies of being pushed into the Mafia. Often characters are seen taking to this new world of violence and power struggles with ease. Shaw’s reponses, though often cruel, feel authentic.
That being said, this is an emotional rollercoaster of a book - swinging between the extremes from scene to scene. Beautifully done - you feel it all with the characters.
These characters have an incredible depth to them. You feel their emotions towards each other. Several of them you will actively despise. I look forward to some of them getting their redemption stories.
Let’s not forget the spice. ALL THE SPICE. Dirty talking, dominating, possessive, kinkerific spice. Do not wear your best lingerie - it wIll be RUINED.
