White Ivy by Susie Yang
4.0

Not at all what I was expecting! A little bit thriller, a little bit dark. Ivy struggles with identity throughout the whole book and has a really hard time accepting her Chinese culture/immigrant family. She is embarrassed by them. She wants the money, the status, etc that she sees in all the upper class white families of the kids at her school. The story runs the timeline of Ivy as a young teen through college and adulthood. As deceitful as Ivy is throughout the book, I couldn't help but root for her and hope she would figure it all out.
