Legendary by Stephanie Garber

3.0

Who is Legend?

We are back at it but instead of Scarlett as our main star we are in the mind of her sister, Tella. The next game of Caraval is ready to start and Tella will catch Legend to wish for her mother's return to her. However, her plot during the last games with Scarlett paired her with bad company and their demands for payment may be impossible to secure. In short, she must find the true identity of Legend and expose him because the Fates demand to be freed from the prison he put them in. Tella sure has stepped in it this time because if she doesn't comply, she most certainly will die for real this time.

All I can say is Tella is a nuisance. Her POV lead me to headaches at worst and annoyance at best. The love interest is appalling. Legend's identity is so obvious that I was second-guessing myself because I couldn't imagine Stephanie would be so transparent, but then again this whole book was transparent. The "plot twists" were seen from such a long distance away that a slap to the face would probably have been more refreshing. I haven't even mentioned the failing disappointment of Scarlett and her beau.

Apart from all that bleh, the Fates storyline was an A+ and I need me some more information on the mythology of this series. The very very end also did intrigue me, though I wasn't exactly surprised by it.

In short? I don't like Tella and the books predictability. I like the magic and mythology.
