This was SUCH a sweet middle grade graphic novel.  Horse girls of today are really lucky to have so many good books.

This story is one that is probably familiar to many young equestrians, but also anyone who has been in junior high.  While horses are a huge part of the story, there are also stories of friendships beginning and ending, anxiety, jealousy - and how they are all normal parts of life.

I loved how the illustrations used color, especially to show the difference between Victoria's past and the present.  The rosier tones really made those scenes feel like a memory.

I would have loved reading this when I was young.
