This is not at all what I was expecting, though to be fair I’m not sure what I was expecting. As a scientist, I loved the story of the deep sea exploration woven in with the love story. I don’t usually read horror/thrillers but this was the perfect level for me where I was intrigued and wanted to know what was going to happen next but was still able to sleep peacefully at night. I would call it a thriller lite, mostly the focus was on the love story and how relationships change after a major event. What a great first read of the year!
