Beyond Limits, Volume 8 by Laura Griffin

5.0

FBI Agent Elizabeth LeBlanc is racing against time to stop a terrorist attack on US soil. It becomes abundantly clear that the only person who may be able to help her stop the attack is the same US Navy Seal who distracts her more than anyone she has ever met. She's not interested in being his booty call whenever he's on leave, but she can't ignore the way she feels when she is around him either.

As the two race to catch the terrorists, Derek Vaugh is also racing to prove to Elizabeth that there could be more between them than just a mutual call to serve their country. He doesn't know what the future holds for him--most of the time he doesn't know what tomorrow holds for him--but he knows he's not ready to walk away from Elizabeth.

Things get messy with the case when they discover that the former President is the intended target at the All-Star game for Major League Baseball. When the dust settles, Derek is in police custody, Elizabeth is the hero of the moment, and once again faced with the potential of having Derek break her heart...again.

Laura Griffin is a master of amazingly well-written romantic suspense featuring strong, intelligent, capable characters in both the male and female roll. You definitely won't find any girls with twisted ankles running from the bad guy in her books, which is what puts her front-and-center on my auto-buy list every time.
