This book has 2 POV's and they both have separate stories that end up tying in together.

We have Ana, she is a wife of a man named Henry who "allegedly" committed suicide in this run-down motel. She has no idea why he chose that place to work on his art and now she is looking for clues and reasons as to why he unalived himself (if he did). Ana ends up moving into the exact motel room Henry leased to see if she can figure out where it all went wrong.

We then have Cass. She had the perfect life. Rich fiancé, stay at home and shop until she dropped; but one thing she did not give up was her passion to fix things. She even called herself the "maintenance ma'am." This perfect life takes a shift when her finance Reid decides to leave her for the "help" and now she is out there all on her own. She finds a property/maintenance worker position in the newspaper for a motel and with her now being homeless; this was the only option she had to survive. There are more layers to Cass but this is just a mini synopsis on her situation in the story (for now).

When I initially went into this story I will say the Cover grabbed my attention, the synopsis kept me intrigued to read, and once I started reading, the story made me want to continue to learn about what happened to Henry and what Ana is going to do with her life after this big tragedy as well as what is Cass about to do since she has nothing now. The author's writing was very straight forward, realistic (in some areas) and smooth to read through. I would say the story is a medium paced vibe.

The reason I am rating this story a 3.75 Star is because when things started to unravel, I kind of knew after the first twist that it would either go one way or the other. I was hoping before I got to the big twist that I would be completely wrong on what would happen, but I wasn't wrong, and it fell flat.

Overall, I recommend reading this because I love the author's writing style and how she really didn't give me the vibe of making it a non-realistic thriller. The dialogue and thought process of each character within the story was done well.
