Lore, through happenstance and desire to escape her self given role as mother and wife, falls in love with Andres and marries him. Problem is, she’s already married to Fabian and has twin boys Mateo and Gabriel. The story of Lores double life and Andre’s murder is brought back to life decades after by Cassie Bowman, a struggling true crime writer. Cassie is engaged to Duke, but is leading a double life of her own as she has not shared with him the truth of her Past.  Which is that she grew up in a family with an alcoholic and abusive father. She’s also hiding the fact that she left that family to save herself, leaving her younger brother behind. Cassie wants to explore what would make a woman and mother risk everything like Lorde did. While digging into the “why” she soon discovers that the “how” and the “who” surrounding the killing of Andres by Fabian is a question She also needs to ask. This is an amazing family drama story that really digs into the heart and struggles of many women and mothers. While not all mothers would deal with the demands the same way that Lore has. I’m sure that many of us have felt similarly trapped in the personas we have created for ourselves.
