This is a mess of a book, but I also really enjoyed it. The pacing was all over the place, bits of plot are picked up and set down to be seemingly (still) forgotten, and the formatting and structure sometimes get in the way of the reading experience (for example, there are no page numbers or full chapter breaks, which makes referencing where you are in the book with someone else more challenging that it would normally be). I think it would definitely be improved by an editor, but I also really enjoyed the informal, almost conversational style of storytelling, at least for the most part. I found myself drawn into the world and, while I was frustrated with the ending, I will read book two.
