Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
5.0

I know I am late to the party on this book but hey, so many books so little time.
The narrative was fast-paced and engaging and drew me in immediately. Its a vivid depiction of a society where virtual reality has become intertwined with daily life, while exploring themes of escapism, identity, and the consequences of unchecked corporate power. Cline's world-building is meticulous, creating a richly detailed universe that feels both fantastical and EERILY plausible. The characters are well-developed and relatable.
Unrelated but related, if you haven't seen the movie don't bother. It's awful!
