Corrupt Crown was a whirlwind of a mafia romance. I would check the trigger warnings as there some heavy scenes in this book.  We have Don Rafael who was never meant to be the head of the family, but when his father and brother were killed he had no choice. Then we have Elodie, who was sold to a vile man who brutally abused her by her family to cover a debt. Elodie’s had one thing to dangle at her to keep her in line and they used it often. Elodie and Rafe had a chance meeting 2 years prior to the main story and sparks flew but she knew she was in no position to be involved with anyone. This world building in this book was phenomenal, I was brought in and I didn’t want it to end. This book was slow burn the love and respect that was given to Elodie by Rafe made me fall in love with him myself. There is a lot of action in this book as well which I very much enjoyed.
