The series started off well as low stress cozy sci-fi but devolved completely into some cringe golden boy wish fulfillment fantasy, where the golden hearted, Mary-Sue main character can do no wrong, make no meaningful mistakes, is liked by all the men and lusted after by all the women. And I'm not exaggerating. At his going away party, literally everyone pauses for unprofessional kisses or a new suit of clothes has every adult woman, supposedly otherwise competent, going weak at the knees. Like apparently our bland limp noodle of a MC exudes an irresistible aura of competency and sexual magnetism. I'm not even going to touch at how terribly the women characters are being written now. They started decent, but have completely devolved. I'm aborting the series and wishing I could get some Kindle refunds.
